Check check check up

Ask yourself: have you visited a dentist? Then, I could tell you the details of how a six month check up would benefit you. A dental check up begins in a one year old child & then, every six months a check up needs to be done!

There are so many reasons to get a dental check up done. From oral hygiene measures to preventing dental caries. Oral hygiene measures would be so, simple as to prevent bad breath in the mouth to preventing full blown gum problems for the patient.
According, to the NHS (National Health Scheme) in UK (United Kingdom), a dental check up can vary from six months to two years, as per your maintenance; if, it isn’t maintained well and you are prone to gum problems then, you would have to meet with your Dentist every six months for a scaling (Cleaning) if, your teeth and gums are well maintained then, you might require a check up only once in two years. People are prone to getting calculus forming in the gums especially, around the salivary ducts exit. Otherwise, it can form all over the mouth if, not maintained well which, could lead to bad breath and gum problems; and in extreme cases falling of the teeth over the years.

Well, you could say that is only half the problem, the second part would be the teeth itself and dental caries or decay occurring. A routine dental check up will help spot the decay before it gets worse. Since, usually, a decay would take four to six months to start from the surface to affect the pulp of the tooth. Therefore, avoiding root canal treatments by timely check ups. And as mentioned, by a prominent dentist Dr. Sandesh Mayekar in the book of his life story, has clearly mentioned, how the cost of the treatment of a filling which could be x could increase to 5x or 10x if, not done on time.

So, simple preventive care measures, could even prevent multiple appointments with a Dentist for more severe cases. A simple dental check up of 15 to 20minutes could last days and hours if not done on time! Therefore, the wisest action on your side would be visit your dentist for your routine dental check ups and see when your Dentist recommends you visiting him for your next appointment. So, you could live your life with a confident and healthy smile:)
