Vision of Healthy Individuals: Contributing to Task Accomplishment

Image
As we’re fully focused on our clinic and providing the best service to our patients—while also preparing for our new clinic relocation, starting from the day of this blog—We are entrusting the dental aggregator to the back burner in the Elite Dental Club as we  FOCUS —Follow One Course Until Success—on the clinic and its relocation. With help from the tech IT world for biannual clinic messages and more, we aim to systemize and delegate for growth, as sometimes the best service can be achieved with a contributing individual in a team effort. Our priority remains the patients who trust us and the preventive maintenance system available to them, fully realizing our vision of healthy individuals. A dream: Meanwhile, cancer prevention, tooth and more regeneration, spontaneous disappearance, and space dentistry are being explored by our scientific community, while we remain available for consultations supporting them.   🔗 [Watch Here]( https://youtu.be/HwPTF_TZvWY?...

This will also give us a better idea of patient satisfaction after treatment, not only when it is done but also after a few months. Additionally, it will serve as a reminder to them, helping to see the revenue (money saved for patients preventing bigger treatments and clinics for money earned) while reassuring them that we are there for them. This approach will also indicate that we are there when they need us, reducing the incidence of dental emergencies and our your contributing to an overall improvement in oral healthcare a...

Hydration

How much is the right amount? 2–4 liters or customized to patients based on their salivation? Reference:   https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28880151/ Isn’t this moving towards a more scientific medical approach? I wouldn’t even call it purely dental, as the whole system is interconnected. What about those calculi that form? All you need is to check (Number of tests for salivary flow:  https://www.hopkinssjogrens.org/disease-information/diagnosis-sjogrens-disease/sialometry/ —are you producing enough saliva?) Calculi (salivary stones) need to be removed surgically or dissolved. This highlights how regular dental visits contribute to maintaining healthy salivary production. If it's due to anxiety or otherwise, dry mouth can be managed with GC Tooth Mousse, prescribed by your dentist. (manage cavities) I even conducted research on salivary glands topic long before I became familiar with the new pipettes being used in studies or the nuances of advanced research. During my Ma...

Mental health challenge.

Image
Mental health issues: awareness is important in society for fostering empathy and the growth of the entire community. How does dental practice help? Building confidence and trust with a patient can encourage them to seek counseling and connect with a mental health professional at the right time, especially when facing toxic home or work environments. This is crucial for cultivating a healthy society.  Few emergency numbers, especially for women: 112:  Emergency 1091:  Women Helpline 181:  Women Helpline Additionally, it has been observed that due to a lack of knowledge in the field, a lot of guesswork tends to occur among patients, the public, families, and even doctors who may not stay updated with the latest information. Forming informed decisions based on data is vital. A publication has been written on how genomics might help in the future, as it is currently not incorporated into the "Bible" of mental health practitioners. Based on genomic medical studies...

Now, Healthy Family First

Image
Yes, oral infections can weaken the immune system. Here's how: Chronic Inflammation : Oral infections like periodontitis (gum disease) trigger chronic inflammation, which can tax the immune system over time. This constant state of activation can weaken its ability to respond to other infections or illnesses effectively. Bacterial Spread : Harmful bacteria from the oral cavity can enter the bloodstream through damaged gums, spreading to other parts of the body and potentially causing systemic infections or inflammation. Link to Systemic Conditions : Oral infections have been associated with conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory infections, indicating the broader impact of poor oral health on overall immunity. Maintaining good oral hygiene through regular brushing, flossing, and professional dental checkups is crucial for supporting a healthy immune system. - From ChatGPT Question s: to ask yourself: Cancer, aches, and pains caused by chronic inflammation—...

Family first.

"Staying humane means avoiding a dangerous, selfish path and instead choosing to sacrifice for your family — that is called humanity." In dentistry, there has been a tradition of offering free dental health checkups, which is okay on rare occasions, such as Preventive Day 12/12, once a year, as we have been doing for over a decade to promote oral health. However, this is not a sustainable healthcare business model, as someone must ultimately pay for the treatment. While sometimes you might get highly paying patients through their whole life cycle, such good relationships are formed. Additionally, patients who can't afford other treatments might still benefit from awareness and can visit appropriate service providers in the network or pay for services if they can afford them. Otherwise, there is a popular saying: "If something is free, you might be the product." So, let's not have any hidden agendas and bring out the full potential of yours while promoting g...

Relaxation

Image
It is crucial to align with the team, much like the alignment required during orthodontic treatments, full-mouth rehabilitations using crowns or bridges, or foundational dental implant work. Balanced occlusion is vital. Sometimes, when the internal curvature of the teeth is not maintained, it can affect the external curve of the smile and lead to jaw problems. As mentioned in our blog  SOS: Enhance Your Posture , maintaining the right posture—like a dancer’s properly positioned neck or correct sitting, typing, and writing postures—can be transformative. Similarly, practicing postures like those in  Surya Namaskar  in the morning is a meditative way to begin the day, stretching like a kitten or cat to relax and prepare for the day ahead. When you arrive at work, you may notice that your team is "firefighting" issues. This often happens in corporate settings, hospitals, or MNCs because the team roles are not aligned. Proper alignment ensures that team members know the...

Masterstroke: Interdisciplinary Team

Stroke : When blood flow to the brain is reduced or interrupted, brain cells can begin to die if not treated promptly. Prevention includes maintaining a healthy lifestyle, taking clot prevention medication, and managing medical conditions effectively. Check ChatGPT for more information: signs, symptoms, etc. However, take it with a pinch of salt—always verify the information. Reduce Risk of Stroke by Preventing Gum Disease:  Preventive Good Oral Health Blog:  https://www.dentalhealth.org/news/gum-disease-doubles-stroke-risk-according-to-new-study Dental Management in Stroke Patients: No treatment should be conducted during the first six months following a stroke, except for emergencies, which must be handled with extreme care. Post six months, management of anticoagulant medications should be done in consultation with a neurologist. Dental treatment is advised only if absolutely necessary after myocardial infarction or cancer. Extreme caution is needed as another stroke can oc...

Family: Karma? Positive action: effort.

Being a dentist or a general dentist in India, and having a Master of Science in an integrated program in Biological Sciences specialized in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (i.e., genetics) from the USA (FYI: for students interested in applying for a full scholarship with a stipend for research at a premium medical research institute), doing dental procedures would make me a dental surgeon. Along with being the proprietorship owner of our independent dental practice in Indiranagar for 5 years, I also had a mutual understanding at the time, with a tie-up of my personal brand name with GG Hospital and Manipal Hospital for 5 years, visiting them on a shared and honorary basis, respectively. Now, with the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Apollo on their ever-growing digital platform starting in 2025, you will be able to find me there among the list of thousands of doctors working interdependently. As my dental patients' trust has grown, various skills and practices have exp...

Mmmm... overall, mmm.

Image
As I have written these few blogs on dentistry, which are scheduled to be posted over the next few months for  Preventive Tuesdays , I will soon be passing the baton to a larger organization—India’s No. 1 hospital chain,  Apollo . Specifically,  Apollo 24/7  will take over managing the marketing and educational activities, on our Google page (Need to see results to recommend.) while I continue to contribute occasionally by writing blogs with deeper research. For those of you following our journey, you can still check in occasionally through our old dental school newsletter,  Dental Fenêtre , via this  link . Ultimately, we need to recognize that overall wellness begins with every bite you take—whether it’s food or information. If not properly digested, it can lead to “indigestion.” "So, all your well-being and systems are good to go." So, take the time to process and proceed carefully.  What did you buy, or what did you do? Is it true? Did you get your money’s worth? Has this life been worth it? Have you done justice in this life—adding to your own and others’ quality of life with better health instead of being a burden on taxpayers? Questions to ask yourself before owing anyone any explanation: ask yourself!  The circle of life:  Karma —health to wealth, wealth to health, and the cycle of growth and prosperity—leads to knowing your true purpose, happiness, and finding your own path. Or perhaps, this post is simply about:  SLEEP. So, don't keep yourself awake asking these questions Is your rhythm in harmony, or are you running in circles, sacrificing health and wealth to another time zone? Even if you're physically present, sometimes mutual understanding is necessary. In some places,  flights are restricted at night  to avoid disturbing sleep—only emergency helicopter ambulances are permitted. I observed this firsthand...

Your good word: we are highly grateful and appreciative

Image
Spread the good word:  Patients should understand that by not claiming the benefits of the Elite dental club preventive maintenance system membership, it's their loss, while taking advantage of them results in gain. Only good word will spread. This is what we hope  'For you'  and us: Since, with better understanding, we come to realize that we might lose a tooth or teeth. This is the truth—by not looking after your gums, or your child's gums, or your elderly parents, or handicapped ones in society, is the truth. And finally, society decays, and without support, the tooth and teeth, and people, fall out to other countries, where their loved ones are taken care of, adding a healthy, productive workforce to countries and armies. With better-paved roads, drainage, and pipes (unique aqueducts)—the three essences of the Roman Empire, which declared that all roads lead to Rome. Wishing you a  Happy Navy Day,  4th December! With the Indian Ocean—the only country...

Diabetes

Image
Managing risk → advanced gum disease → periodontitis → chronic inflammation, which can worsen blood sugar levels. Therefore, cleaning is advisable:  https://www.diabetes.org.uk/about-diabetes/complications/gum-disease   Prophylactic Antibiotic When:  In controlled vs. uncontrolled cases, routine vs. dentoalveolar surgery:  https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10530114/   Tip:  For Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (DM), it is generally recommended to administer antibiotic prophylaxis (Augmentin 625mg) one hour before procedures, such as extractions, especially for patients on insulin. The medication should then continue as recommended. If there is a penicillin allergy, an alternative antibiotic should be prescribed. Basically, the point being made is to keep your gums healthy, as sugar can affect both your gums and overall health, and vice versa, as indicated in the first reference link. This can help achieve better control over your sugar levels. Additionally, rou...

Grandma's recipe.

Image
Haldi, milk, lime, and honey, mentioned in one of my previous posts, are known to help with inflammation and benefit our body systemically. So, how about cleaning those yellow extrinsic stains while taking care of your body? After a cough or cold (Cancer reversal to normal cells — a new breakthrough technology:  https://www.kaist.ac.kr/newsen/html/news/?mode=V&mng_no=43810&skey=keyword&sval=Cancer&list_s_date=&list_e_date=&GotoPage=1 . I told them in Louisville it can be done — no one believed my idea or didn't understand it. My idea! It was a very simple, nascent concept on Tumor Reversion (TCTP) — this one is obviously a matured, complex, and well-developed breakthrough. Once discovered in one type of cancer research meta-analysis, it is only a matter of time before the mechanism of action can be discovered in other cancers, including prostate, oral cancer, etc.) Keeping both genetics and epigenetics fully into consideration. Before the point of irr...

Recession

Image
Recession : Multiple aspects must be considered to avoid it, as it impacts global, national, and individual family levels. Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan simplified it to: Jobs, Jobs, Jobs . Even with 7% growth, more is needed. This begins with investing in health. A healthy workforce, which includes a positive mindset and confidence—starting with something as simple as a smile—lays the foundation. Knowing where to start is key. Investing in health leads to a healthy mind and body, fostering a spirit to work and generate ideas. This contributes to the startup culture, which then leads to education and upskilling, ultimately driving GDP growth for infrastructure development. Similar to gums, which play a supportive role, neglecting health investments can lead to complications. For instance, gum recession often results from not dedicating time to brushing, cleaning, or regular checkups. Sensitive teeth might require toothpaste like Sensodyne, or for se...

Need a filling or sealant?

ART can change one's life. So can Atraumatic Restorative Treatment. Huh? What's the difference? And how? Art, as we know, helps us understand the deeper aesthetics of a pleasing Mona Lisa smile. Meanwhile, Atraumatic Restorative Treatments with Glass Ionomer fillings or 3M Pit and Fissure Sealants are designed for dentists to detect early signs of decay and address them without any drilling or damage to the tooth. These treatments fill up crevices and seal them, preventing food from lodging and causing decay. Preserving the natural tooth structure helps maintain that Mona Lisa smile. Atraumatic Restorative Treatments ensure your smile is preserved for generations to come, along with the comfort of enjoying nutritious meals with ease. Simply check if the sealant is intact, assess if it needs a touch-up or refill, and you’re good to go! Each one of you has a unique DNA code to a mysterious smile. Maybe not the Mona Lisa smile, like the one above painting by my mother, Mrs. Re...

Food for thought. 💭🤔

Image
Once, a patient was sitting in the chair and suddenly demanded, "Get me my old files." It might have been a total misunderstanding in communication, but it's common for patients to question whether the work was done well or if it should be free when not liable, especially after the standard post-care period of 15 days. This is often a result of human error, the learning curve, or practice with time—an aspect that’s a shared responsibility between the practitioner and the scientists who deliver the technology, with the patient therefore called to follow post-care instructions. Whether it’s complex procedures like implants or simple silver fillings—despite concerns about toxicity—what matters is the longer durability gained from experience. After investing time, effort, and money into learning, and with the patient's trust in the procedure, this needs to be understood. If you trust your doctor, go back to them. I am sure their intentions are to do their best within the...
