Building my skills in dentistry

Image
I need to acknowledge many who helped me at each step in my career. The picture above is of my mentor Dr. Achuth M Baliga and my guide Dr. Samuel Shadrack. Thank you  Starting with the college where I joyfully gained my initial knowledge       I still smile when I remember how a friend misheard the professor, say spray as PRAY and give the injection in the Pedodontics department and started praying in front of the patient before giving the injection.  Here is where the massive amount of basic dentistry knowledge was learned. The internship time was spent in rotations, where I also ran a college newsletter in dentistry and organized a college festival. I stepped out of college all excited at the prospect of joining the workforce.   Starting from managing a single chair practice at Shweta Dental clinic in Bangalore, India, then joined Manipal Hospital initially as an observer and then as a junior resident doctor at Manipal hospital u...

My proposal for Covid 19

POSSIBLE preventive measure (not proven) and is not a cure: switch your mouthwash (Dr. Dhruv BDS, Dip, MS USA) Betadine mouthwash. Recommended to use this for 15 seconds morning and night, and when coming home from outside. It might eliminate the coronavirus in the oral cavity (mouth) and the remaining will be eliminated by the gastric juices in the stomach. DO NOT Use this mouthwash for more than 14 days. People with certain conditions don’t use (read before use in reference link 3 given below.)This conclusion is based on the reference articles References 1. Transmission routes of 2019-nCoV and controls in dental practice Xian Peng1, Xin Xu1, Yuqing Li1, Lei Cheng1, Xuedong Zhou1 and Biao Ren 1 2. Reaching for the stars my journey to private practice

Image
(Picture of me standing at University of Louisville)committment starts with trust from my patient, in my ability to make them feel better I, like many researchers had a dream to cure cancer. I finally decided to be practical and to keep that dream aside, hopefully somewhere in the world, someone is near to finding a cure for the big C & making other impossible goals possible. I focused on healing people by returning to my field, dentistry, on which I have concentrated for the past five years with only a three and half years hiatus for research to do my higher studies in medicine, in my pass two decades of dentistry. So now 1. I am working to be a complete dentist under the able guidance of my mentor and guide in Manipal Hospital with a focus on implants 2. Building my private practice at my clinic with loyal and happy patients  3. Hoping to excel, under the best  guidance, and  be able to do a sinus lift implant surgery and implant placement with the delivery...

Miracles happen with good Dentistry(Actions to Miracles to Magic: with one simple word: Dentistry)

Image
If a person's chosen field is dentistry, he contributes to society, with ethical, good and consistent work. After making up your mind, after 12th class, and joining Dental college, where you are initially grounded in medical dental theory with emphasis on the head and neck region. Then progressively taught basic skills, drilling from plastic typhodont teeth, to slow speed drills without water to high speed water jet drills. The training imparts confidence to the dentist(my dental college MR Ambedkar dental college & hospital in the photo)The patients know they are in well trained safe hands. How ever much the dentist would like to help them. If, they don’t trust him/her then, helping them with your dental treatment is an impossible task. If the doctor is committed to delivering the best treatment at his disposal at his clinic and the patient has come with trust and commitment to receive the best treatment then, best treatment outcome is 100% as seen from my dental experienc...

A decision “commitment to work” A thought, a feeling, an emotion, an action: crown cutting

Image
My mentor Dr. Achuth M Baliga Screamed at me once 14 years ago for cutting the crown in the wrong way. An when I joined him back again 12 years later, the first patient I volunteered to do for him was a Crown cutting case. Before this cutting 200 crowns in a month in a friend’s clinic. Now, I’m at my own clinic and Manipal hospital and can I make a commitment to my mentor and guide, Dr. Samuel Shadrack to learn everything in dentistry to make me a complete dentist? Since I’ve picked up all the basic skills in dentistry from them over the years. Technically, I do the crown cutting with three burs, the pear-shaped bur to reduce the occlusal height, the small chamfer bur to reduce, buccal & lingual width, and break the mesial & distal contacts (a long tapered bur can be used, so as to reduce less of the mesial & distal, and not touch the neighboring teeth), and chamfer margin finishes all round the tooth. An the, finishing bur for the final polish to give a smooth finish...

And heaven on earth or above, in your mind or universe, far away or here right now, you have achieved eternal salvation out of that cycle of monthly cramps, of unhappy, for a joy seeing the miracle of life's creator's creation together. Now, I hope and pray you understand to read furthermore." "With gratitude, thank you. Please hold on to your seat belts; you are in for a joy ride!"
